Guild Recruitment guidelines
So you wanna ride with Nazgul?
- Register on our forum using your Main Characters name as your Forum User Name.
- Stick a post in our Recruitment Board letting us know that you want to join. Who are you, where are you from, who in Nazgul you know - your shout on the details, but give us an idea of who you are.
- An officer will contact you in-game or reply to your post - look us up if you don't hear from us - any Nazgul player can put you in contact with an officer.
- Read the rules below regarding membership. You happy, we happy.
Nazgul has always been a very social guild, and we have a good bit of history now, with many long-standing members. We have been in existence now for around 4 years, initially playing Dark Age of Camelot. As such, we are naturally quite cautious when inviting new members, because as any of you who have played MMO games for any length of time will know, it is easy to upset the balance with individuals who cause upset within the guild.
The basic rules are as follows:
- The GM’s and Officers will control all recruitment. Recruitment will only take place when we agree that we are open for recruitment.
- Players interested in joining the guild should be referred to the forum to start with, where they will be required to post an application. If you have played with specific guild members etc, say so. This allows us to have a chat with the guildmembers in question, and get a feeling for whether you would make a good addition to the Nazgul ranks.
- An officer or GM will contact you in-game, and have a chat with you. If all proceeds well, then you will be invited to the guild on an initial 1 week trial basis. This is just to make sure that we get on with you, and you with us. For this first week you will have the Initiate rank (see Ranks post for more details). Following your week probation, registering on the forum and posting your character details, you get your full member rank.
- Real-life friends of guildmates are always welcome to join, unless there is a recruitment freeze in operation at the time, in which case it will be down to the GM’s. We still require that you post an application, but mention in it who your irl mate is. A note to all guildmembers on this – bear in mind that we are taking your friend on purely on your say-so. If you do not think that they would suit the guild, please persuade them that another guild would suit them better.
Guild rules:
We don’t have many, but we do ask that they are adhered to.
- No swearing in guild chat. Many of us have children who can see what Mummy/Daddy is doing at the PC, and are amazingly adept at pointing out naughty words. So please don’t use them. That includes [Censored], f*ck, FFS, OMFG, and any other similar abbreviations ideally.
- Be nice. Nazgul in DAOC had a fantastic reputation as being a really nice guild, and we are getting the same reputation in WoW. Please avoid things like arguments conducted in /y in the middle of Orgrimmar, and remember that when grouped you are representative of the guild – make sure that you leave a good impression on non-Nazgul players.
- Respect your guildmates. The best part of being in a guild, for me, is the sense of belonging, making friends in-game. Little things make a big difference to this – when people log in, say hello to them, if someone bids the guild goodnight as they log off, say goodbye. If someone announces a Ding in /g, then a swift Gratz is a great way of making them happy.
- To all new guild members – don’t be afraid to pipe up in guild chat. I have invited some people over the years who join the guild but are terrified to speaking in /g – don’t be – we are nice, that is why you joined us. Chat away and soon you will find a regular little group of mates waiting online for you.
That will do for now – happy hunting all.
Sweet out.
